Happy Birthday...

This blog is one year old. No time to celebrate and little to be proud of. During this time we had around 20000 visits from 60 different countries, the majority of which came from the UK, US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. On average we receive every week one story of abuse, harassment or bullying in academia - mostly by managers. The pattern is well-known and well-established. The contributors to this blog wish to thank you all for your support. We now have some voice and a very long way to go...

We need to develop and expand otherwise we will burn ourselves and bog ourselves down in our own ideas.

We don't want to follow the pattern of the UCU. Do we?

We are the alternative and antagonist force.

Thanks for your efforts and understanding.

... on one of the most important, heart- rending journeys I have ever been on.

In spite of the catastrophic level of bullying that exists in our universities, the lies, the deceit... I have to believe that we will continue to make headway in addressing these issues....

... a first birthday of what will need to be many birthdays....

Document your case of bullying and take it to a solicitor..the union (don't let Sally escape)...

... don't walk away from bullying.

Stand up to it

Fight back with all the cunning you can manage.

Never doubt that a group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed it's the only thing that ever has.

I wrote a case study about my mobbing and plan to
"take it on the road" to tell my story. Stories need to be told here on this blog and within conferences and journals. Thanks to the moderators for creating a space where stories can be told.
