The bullying of academics follows a pattern of horrendous, Orwellian elimination rituals, often hidden from the public. Despite the anti-bullying policies (often token), bullying is rife across campuses, and the victims (targets) often pay a heavy price.

I've heard that Karl Rove decreased the number to 5. Given the explosion of media outlets, I suppose 5 is all it takes these days.
Goebbels's statement was right on. He would have known best. It frightens me though that more people are not aware of this and do not stand up to the bombardment of rhetoric. The media is able to get by with saying anything it wants and doing anything it wants. There is no recourse for them and if there is, it is only temporary and for the sake of reassuring the public that "someone" is looking out for the truth. The truth is, no one in power wants truth exposed.
