The bullying of academics follows a pattern of horrendous, Orwellian elimination rituals, often hidden from the public. Despite the anti-bullying policies (often token), bullying is rife across campuses, and the victims (targets) often pay a heavy price.

Is it worth it?
Are the target’s needs for fairness and justice outweighed by the price paid for challenging an often smug, hurtful culture that will likely outlast any lone individual’s campaign for justice?

Thankfully the time of 'lone individuals' has gone...
... those of us whose words appear on this blog draw strength from knowing that we are not alone...
...that more are speaking out against work place bullying...
... we believe that the 'tipping point' will eventually come...
... that those smug, hurtfull cultures will collapse into their own stinking shit...
... we respect those targets who cannot bear the bullying and walk away...
... our utter contempt is for those who watch from the shadows...
Um...yes, it is worth it. No price is too high for justice. Academia is all about targets--academic goals. When the bully is attacking the person, he or she has, in his or her sights, the wrong target and, as such, they are detrimental to research and pedagogy. They should be brought down at any cost.
