Excellent to see that this is being built up on wikipedia. A senior manager where I work described workplace bullying as 'theft of academic identity'. As with bullying in the playground it is the ritual public humiliation which is so hard to cope with - a bit like gang rape - except worse - because the bullying is so subtle and insidious that the perpetrators just explain their actions away - like the playground bully. 'I didn't mean to trip you up - it was just an accident.'
We are slowly moving forward in dealing with this issue thanks to this site and THE. However there is still a very long way to go - not the least because UCU must be more proactive - so lobby them!
