This sense of invulnerability and omnipotence permeates just about everything they do. They are *never* wrong--they have Ph. D.s and, therefore, are experts. (A good example of this is the on-going "climate change" nonsense. Never have so many seemingly educated people peddled so much twaddle and tried to make it seem credible.)<br /><br />They also have a sense of permanent entitlement simply by being educated, rarely having done anything useful or otherwise tangible with that schooling. The tenure system only encourages and rewards that.<br /><br />The professors I had the most respect for, both while I was an undergrad and, later, studying for my advanced degrees, were those who not only had the formal qualifications but supplemented that by actual field experience. One could believe what they said as they had both theoretical and practical knowledge.
