Mobbing in C&EE is connected to professional progression and centred on the dominance of senior academics who abuse their positions and destroy their juniors.<br />Where in the west the PhD is the main step in an academic carrer in C&EE, it is the first of formal advancement levels: PhD >> DSci (dr.hab) >> formal professorship. Sometimes intermediate steps are thrown in, each with formal requirements, but also with a community assessment element, forcing individuals to "fit in".
