There is little prospect of my obtaining employment in my field now that my reputation has been ruined unjustly and unfairly.

However, I am concentrating on trying to obtain further success in my field outside of academia, notwithstanding my poor health, which may, someday, allow me to return to academia, which I truly love. It will have to be on my own terms, however, and not in a situation where there is a virtual gun to my head.

You have my support and understanding for what you've gone through. We all have to support one another as comrades in arms, and must work to lift each other up so that we can live to fight another day, so to speak.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28080901.post-60016553295298931582007-05-23T19:47:00.000+00:002007-05-23T19:47:00.000+00:00Your story mirrors my own in many ways. I, too, have been punished and delegated to meaningless course assignments. I, too, am tenured and have found senior positions in my field to be rare. I, too, have been a finalist for over a dozen positions and have not had one job offer. I, too, am mortified at the academic life I must endure until I figure out what to do next. Do we deserve a life like this? Does anybody? Wherever you are, I hope that you find some inner peace. I have taken to exercise, prayer, writing, gardening, and painting to find joy again. Namaste.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28080901.post-41032755401553480442007-05-20T06:54:00.000+00:002007-05-20T06:54:00.000+00:00So many stories to be told...How long before we ge...So many stories to be told...

How long before we get beyond these stories of pain...

...to stories of those with integrity like Prof. Peter Grant from Edinburgh University...

...the stories of bullying....

...the voices of the victims...

Aphra BehnAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
