7th November 2007: Anti-bullying day at work

Today we remember... everything we have experienced, the harassment and the bullying... we also remember those who suffer silently, who fear for their jobs and their positions... we remember the silent and the vocal and active collaborators... we also remember the useless and worthless procedures and policies... we remember how inadequate they were and still are... we remember the suffering, the pain and the depression... today we have so much to remember, but we remember it every day anyway... when does closure come? Today we remember...

So Sally has at last spoken out about wpb...

She says that

... dealing with bullying is not rocket science. If some institutions can implement bullying policies with teeth, there is no reason why the rest of the sector can't

Guardian Nov 6th

So that is obviously why Sally hasn't spoken much about wpb before....she probably thinks it's so easy to deal with that she doesn't really want to waste her time on it...much more important things to deal with... so univerisites just pull your socks up and get on with it...sort out wpb tomorrow so we can get on with the more important things like research and teaching...

...dealing with work place bullying is not rocket science....

...so if you're feeling beside yourself with the bullying.... don't worry... UCU maybe have a little leaflet they are sending out tomorrow with advice to eradicate bullying in one step......

step one stop bullying

Today I remember years of being a target of workplace bullying in a prestigious universities - a university that people hold in high esteem....

Gosh you work at...

I remember the colleagues who left in despair... some with no job to go to...

I remember the hypocrisy of the UCU reps whom I went to for help....

I remember the hypocrisy of the management as they pretend to deal with my grievance...

I remember the colleagues who joined and continue to join in with the bullying - who kicked me in the teeth and stood back to watch...

I remember the silence of those who watch...fearful maybe that they will be next...

...or just enjoying the spectacle...

My university career destroyed...
